Urgent Response Services

When Personal-Care Needs Cannot Wait for the Next Scheduled Visit

Caregiving does not always go according to plan. A caregiver may not arrive, an accident may happen between visits, or the person who usually helps may suddenly be unable to provide the assistance needed.

Our Urgent Response service is provided by one or more of our Caregiving Superheroes® and offers short-notice, non-medical personal-care assistance to our regular clients, subject to availability and our ability to safely meet the need.

Who might benefit?

Your caregiver or scheduled assistance did not arrive.

You were counting on help with personal care, but the person expected to assist is absent or significantly delayed.

An accident happened outside your caregiver’s scheduled hours.
You need assistance with personal cleaning after a bowel or bladder accident, and your next scheduled caregiver visit is not soon enough.

An accident happened while you were away from home.
A personal-care accident in a public setting can be upsetting. Contact us to discuss your location and the help you need.

We’ll even bring a change of clothes if needed. Before arranging assistance, we will confirm that care can be provided in a safe, private, and accessible setting.

Your caregiver is present but does not have the training, skills, or physical ability to help safely.
Some personal-care needs require assistance beyond what a family member or caregiver feels prepared to provide.

We may be able to help when the task falls within our team’s training and services.

Your caregiver is temporarily unable to assist for another reason.
Illness, injury, transportation problems, another urgent responsibility, or other circumstances may leave you without the personal-care assistance you expected.

How quickly can we arrive?

Depending on availability, we may be able to arrive in as little as 30 minutes after your request.

Arrival time depends on your location, traffic, the location of the nearest available Caregiving Superhero®, the assistance needed, and whether one or two team members are required. Response times are not guaranteed.

How to request assistance

Regular clients: Call or text the direct scheduling number provided to you. Tell us where you are, what assistance you need, and whether a change of clothes is needed.

Our team will discuss availability, an estimated arrival time, and applicable charges before arrangements are confirmed.

Sending a text does not by itself confirm a visit. Please obtain confirmation from our team before relying on assistance.

Important note: Urgent Response provides personal-care assistance—not emergency medical response. For a medical emergency, call 911 immediately rather than waiting for our team.

Urgent Response Service Q&A's

My caregiver did not show up. Could your team help?

We may be able to help with the personal-care assistance you need. When a scheduled caregiver is absent or significantly delayed, contact us and explain what you were expecting help with. We will discuss whether an available Caregiving Superhero® can safely provide that assistance.

The specific tasks and visit arrangements would be confirmed with you; requesting Urgent Response does not automatically arrange a full replacement caregiver shift.

What happens if I have an accident when my caregiver is not scheduled?

You can contact us about short-notice personal-care assistance rather than waiting until the next scheduled visit. For example, you may need help with personal cleaning and changing clothes after a bowel or bladder accident.

Assistance depends on team availability and whether we can safely meet your needs.

Can you help if an accident happens in a public setting?

Contact us by phone or text message—we may be able to come to your location. Tell us where you are and what happened so we can discuss the assistance needed and whether a safe, private, accessible place is available to provide care.

We’ll even bring a change of clothes if you need one. Let us know your clothing size and what items are needed when you call so those details can be confirmed before the visit.

Our focus is on helping you regain comfort and dignity—not making an already difficult situation more uncomfortable.

My caregiver is here but does not know how to help with this situation. Could your team assist?

Possibly. A family member or caregiver may be willing to help but lack the training, experience, confidence, or physical ability to perform a particular personal-care task safely.

Explain what assistance is needed. We will discuss whether it falls within our team’s training and services and whether the necessary staff and equipment are available. We will not assume a task is safe simply because someone needs it done quickly.

Could you help if my caregiver is sick, injured, delayed, or dealing with another responsibility?

These are situations in which Urgent Response may be useful. An unexpected problem can leave a gap in personal care even when everyone has planned carefully.

Contact us about the immediate need. We will explain what assistance may be available rather than asking you to assume that a visit or particular task can be accommodated.

How quickly can a Caregiving Superhero® arrive?

In some circumstances, arrival may be possible in as little as 30 minutes after a request—but that is not a guaranteed response time. Your published service already makes that distinction.

Timing depends on traffic, your location, the location and availability of our team members, and the staffing and equipment needed for your care. We will discuss an estimated arrival time when arranging assistance.

Is Urgent Response available to someone who has never used your services?

Currently, Urgent Response is available to our regular clients. People interested in becoming clients can join the Interest List to discuss service suitability and next steps.

Keep in mind that completing that form does not dispatch a team or reserve an urgent visit.

What should I tell you when requesting help?

Tell us your name, exact location, callback number, and the personal-care assistance needed. Explain whether someone is with you and mention any access or mobility considerations.

For an accident away from home, tell us whether there is a private place where assistance could be provided. When clothing is needed, provide the size and the items needed. Our team will confirm the arrangements by text message or email before assigning the request to one of our Caregiving Superheroes® for prompt response.

Is Urgent Response a substitute for emergency medical care?

No. Urgent Response is for non-medical personal-care assistance. It is not emergency medical response.

For a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. Do not wait for a Caregiving Superhero® to arrive.
